How the Bible, with its 66 Books and some 40 (human) authors was written, compiled, and preserved, is in itself sufficient evidence to conclude that it comes from the hand of God, and that it is the only tangible source of spiritual information, given to Man, in which the charatcer, nature, and plan of God for mankind is revealed.
This ministry acknowledges "The Bible" as being the 66 books of the Canon of Scripture that was adopted, accepted, and acknowlegded by the early Church.
The original manuscripts of what we now call "The Bible" were written in Hebrew, Greek, and a few passages in Aramaic. All other versions, including ALL of those in the English language, are at best, translations of the orginal words and languages that were "God-breathed" and inspired.
Some versions are better than others in that they present the sacred writings with a degree of more accuracy. The ambiguity of the English language makes the job of translatiing the ancient languages especially difficult. The classic examples of the problems that the English Bibles present are the usage of the word "kill" instead of "murder" in the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament, and the use of the word "love" without a clarifying adjective that makes distinctions beteen personal and impersonal love in many of the New Testament passages. These seemingly "minor" differences totally change the meaning of tne verses. God cannot sin, nor can He command Man to sin. The taking of human life in acts of war, self-defense, and capital punishment are ALL Biblically substantiated. Applying personal love instead of impersonal love (and visa versa) totally changes the meaning and applcation of many verses.
I make use of many different versions, but as get older, I like LARGE PRINT the most.
Whatever your personal choice of Bible may be, it is important to study it under the ministry of a qualified pastor-teacher, who among other things, studies and teaches the Bible in light of the original languages in which the original manuscripts were inspired.
